(Lewis Educational Agriculture Farm)
Through education we work to establish the relationship between students, community and the food supply.
The LEAF is a place of inclusion, where experiences connect us to each other and to the land that sustains us.
At The LEAF, we provide a multitude of opportunities to become engaged with the world around us.
Our farm is home to several animals, including chickens, ducks, goats, and (in the summer) two miniature donkeys. Down by the pond you'll find several bee hives, the stars of our Pollinator Program with Southington's Vocational Agriculture program. During all times of the year, the farm is buzzing with wild animals and insects alike, from ladybugs and butterflies to bobcats and coyotes. There is plenty to observe year-round.
To aid vegetable production, The LEAF also has 7 working greenhouses where students can learn the importance of sunlight, water, and soil in the cycle of a plant's life.
Here on the farm, learning opportunities are endless!
